Libby Greene

SHELBY: Elizabeth “Libby” Greene, 71, died Monday, August 30, 2021 at Atrium Health Main. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Beatrice Hardin Butler. Libby retired from Celanese and loved to drawl and go to the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Pharis Greene; brother, Darrell Butler; and sister, Sheila Spurling. She is survived by her sons, Gerald Lail of Shelby, Chad Lail and wife Angela and Donavon Lail and wife Jenny, both of Kings Mountain; step-children, Chris Greene and wife Joan of Greenville, SC, Scott Greene and wife Sharon of Franklinton and Sondra Lowery and husband Kim of Rutherfordton; brothers, Keith Butler and wife Gail and Garland Butler and wife Becky, both of Shelby; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Cleveland Memorial Park.
