SHELBY- Mrs. Lillian Lankford Putnam, 80, of 401 N. Morgan St., Shelby died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Joe and Lizzie Moss Lankford. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and she loved to play bingo.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Putnam, a daughter, Patricia Lowery, ten brothers and sisters.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a son, Michael Putnam, and wife, Kay of Shelby; two daughters, Linda Ramsey of Kings Mountain and Judy Jackson of Shelby; eleven grandchildren, James Humphries and wife, Soyna and Sherry Davis and husband, Bobby, all of Shelby, Lucy Keeter and husband, Billy of Gastonia, Phillip Humphries of Shelby, Betty Morton and husband, Jerry and Billy Walton, all of Hickory, Mark Lowery and Paul Lowery, both of Forest City, Allison Hodges and husband, Kevin, Eric Putnam and wife, Vicki, and Heather Jackson, all of Shelby; eight great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kay Putnam, 605 W. Warren St., Shelby.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.

LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Revs. David Rabb and Dan Wallace

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the Church Building Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 320 Old Boiling Springs Church Rd., Shelby, NC 28152.
