Lily Tessener

August 18, 1928 — April 10, 2014

SHELBY- Lily Irene Glenn Tessener, 85, died Wed., April 9, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Charlotte Moore Glenn. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper and cashier at Western Steer Steak House in Shelby.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Tessener; sister, Mary D. Glenn Lynn; four brothers, Boyce, Palmer, Harrison and Baxter Glenn; two nieces, Marsha Glenn and Barbara Lynn Marsh.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her loving daughter, Donnis Chappeta and husband Tommy of Greenville, SC; and many extended family members; and close friends, Sara Eubanks, Aimee Pope, Betty Martin and Betty White; her much loved caregiver, Donna Turner; and her precious “Penny” her dog.

GRAVSIDE SERVICES: An outdoor celebration of Lily’s life will be held Saturday, 11AM, at Cleveland Memorial Park

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 6-8PM, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home
