Lloyd "Eddie" Fite

KINGS MOUNTAIN-Lloyd “Eddie” Fite, 87, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 20, 2016, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Cleveland county, he was the son of the late Richard Earl and Jessie (Boots) Elizabeth Bridges Fite. He loved going to the beach and playing in the ocean, at times even neck deep. He loved with his whole heart especially when it came to his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Starnes Fite and his previous wife, Georgia Moore Fite; one brother, Don Fite and one sister, Earline Matheson.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Fite, Scott Fite and wife Megan all of Kings Mountain; three daughters, Brenda Short and husband Harold “Pokey” of Kings Mountain, Valerie Jenkins and husband Bill of Gaffney, Sandy Staley and husband David of Lowell; two brothers, Charles Fite and wife Brenda, David Fite and wife Dianne all of Kings Mountain; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; his cat, Molly; special friends Helen and David Crawford and family.


The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, at Eastside Baptist Church of Kings Mountain, officiated by the Revs. Ron Caulder and Gary Teague, II.

Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
