SHELBY- Mrs. Loretta Hamrick Allen, 75 of 500 Stroud Road, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was born November 25, 1938, daughter of the late James Paul and Doris Jones Hamrick. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby where she served as Mission Friends and Bible School teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending times with her family and enjoyed her shopping trips with her best friend Joann Harrill.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, John Edgar Allen and one brother, Lanny Hamrick.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eugene Allen of the home; two daughters, Susan Smith and husband Ryan of Shelby, Sharon Puckett and husband Joey of Stanley; two brothers, Jerry Hamrick and wife Mary, Sherrill Hamrick and wife Linda all of Shelby; four grandchildren, Savannah Beam of Concord, Andy Beaver and wife Krista of Shelby, Casey Puckett and Jay Puckett both of Stanley; three great grandchildren, Riley Helms and Gracie Schoelkopf both of Concord, Andi-Jo Beaver of Shelby; her life-long best friend Joann Harrill of Shelby.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Thursday at First Baptist Church of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 2:30-4pm Thursday at the church and other times at her home.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
