BOILING SPRINGS- Mrs. Lorie Penson Greene, 89, of 1404 North Lafayette Street, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Aves Roy Sr. and Hattie Elizabeth Davidson Penson. She worked for Cleveland Sandwich Company and the Snack Shop. Mrs. Greene was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Herbert W. Greene; three brothers, Roy, Bob, and Yates Penson; three sisters Mae Pruitt, Nannie Lee Poteat, and Morie Bridges; and two grandchildren, Carol Denise Greene and Charles Everette Greene.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her two sons Charles Greene and wife Donnis, and Wayne Greene and wife Joan all of Boiling Springs; two sisters Mary Sue Harris of Boiling Springs and Elizabeth Lee and husband Richard of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, Debbie Walkeo and husband Mark of Shelby, Sherry Ledford and husband Doug of Boiling Springs, Lisa Hoyle of Casar, Amy Bowen and Patrick Greene both of Boiling Springs; and eight grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
SERVICES: Services will be held, Friday, March 12, 2010, 2pm, in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
CLERGY: Chaplin Wade Wallace will be officiating.
