Louise Green

SHELBY- Mrs. Myrtle Louise “Maw Maw” Mosteller Green, 89, of 401 North Morgan Street, Shelby, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at White Oak Manor. She is a daughter to the late Alonzo Mosteller and Mary Ella Richardson Mosteller. She was a member of Peach Street Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed baking cakes and pies and liked growing and canning vegetables and sharing with neighbors. She also retired from J.P. Stevens after 40 years where she was an inspector.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Leo Hanson Green, four sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by a son Ed L. Green and wife Janice of Shelby, three daughters; Doris G. Moss and husband Dan of Gastonia, Juanita Wright and husband Jerry, and Jean Cline, all of Shelby, one brother Thurman Mosteller of Lincolnton, nine grandchildren; Bryan Green of Lincolnton, Brent Green of Shelby, Jaquitha Edwards and husband Doyle of Lincolnton, Jeanna Cline of Shelby, Jeff Moss and wife Cheryl, Chris Moss and wife Nora, all of Charlotte, Angela Hall and husband Ron of Gastonia, Zina Rollins and husband Keith of Shelby, and Anita Horn and husband Frank of Lawndale, twelve great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff of White of Manor of Shelby, Dr. Perkins and his staff, and Dr. Potts and his staff at Hospice of Cleveland County for all of their kindness and care.
Visitation will be held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, Saturday, (7/26), from 6-8:00pm.
The funeral will be held at Peach Street Baptist Church, Sunday, (7/27), at 2:00pm.
Mrs. Green will lie in state from 1:30-2:00pm.
Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
Rev. Dan Wallace and Bryan Griffin will officiate.
