GASTONIA-Mr. Lowery Benson Wilson, 86, of 514 S. Avon St., formerly of Kings Mountain, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Haskel Dewey and Nettie Geneva Jenkins Wilson. He was a member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church in Gastonia and worked for Homelite for 36 years, and was a member of Homelite Rod and Gun Club.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Hord.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Verla Jean Parks Wilson, of the home; three sons, Larry Benson Wilson of Gastonia, Jeffrey Scott Wilson Sr. and wife Julie, Hayward Lamont Wilson and wife Cynthia Ann, all of Bessemer City; sister, Betty Falls and husband James of Kings Mountain; brother, Gary Lamont Wilson of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Patel and husband Mike of Buford, SC, Madison Brooke Wilson of Bessemer City, Jeffrey Scott Wilson Jr. of Bessemer City; great-grandchildren, Tobias and Tula Patel of Buford, SC.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Sunday, 2:30PM, at Mountain Rest Cemetery
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 1-2:00PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain, and other times at 410 E. Louisiana Ave. Bessemer City.
