SHELBY: Lynn Childrez Munoz, 57, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, in Hospice at Wendover, after a courageous, four year battle, with cancer. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Ruth Roberts Childrez of Shelby, and the late Robert Allen Childrez, Sr. Lynn was a Christian, faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and a longtime supporter of Billy Graham Ministries.
She was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University with double majors. These were in psychology and sociology.
Lynn’s most recent employment was with Brown &Williamson where she was a territory manager.
She had many passions during her life. Those included, visiting the mountains, gardening, working in her flowers, and watching old TV shows such as Andy Griffith. She always treasured her family values and traditions. Her lifelong love of animals was evident by her rescuing cats and making them beloved pets. She was a loving wife, soulmate, daughter, sister, and friend who will be missed by all those who loved her.
PRECEDED: In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rufus and Julia Childress, and Edley and Mollie Roberts.
SURVIVED: In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dr. Rob Munoz of the home; daughters, Laura Winchester and husband Charles of Cherryville, and Melinda Munoz and husband Colin of Charleston, SC; sister, Mary Stuart Childrez Andrews and husband Mark of Raleigh; brother, Bob Childrez, Jr., and wife Linda of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Gavin and Mikayla; and nieces, Madeleine Andrews, Susan Bernstein, and Cathy Williamson.
FUNERAL SERVICES: A memorial service will be held 3pm, Tuesday, Feb.13, 2018, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Epworth Building.
OFFICIATING: Dr. Tracy Jessup and Dr. Doug Stroud will officiate.
