Madge Turner

SHELBY- Mrs. Madge McIntyre Turner, 99, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Rutherfordton. A native of Cleveland County she was born September 14, 1912, daughter of the late Broadie V. and Mary Hardin McIntyre. She was retired for the Dover Mill. She was a long time member of Second Baptist Church of Shelby where she was very involved in the Hostess Committee, the choir, the Children’s Department when she was able to attend. She was an avid gardener and was a member of the Rose Society.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Turner; three brothers, Frank, Dewey and Blaine McIntyre; two sisters, Ray Whitaker and Thelma M. Gold.

SURVIVED: She is survived by three sisters, Jackie Greene and Helen Ellis both of Shelby, and Margaret Brumley of Gastonia; one brother, Gus McIntyre and wife Betty of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am at Second Baptist Church of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday 10-11:00 am before the service at Second Baptist Church of Shelby.

CLERGY: Rev. Gary Marburger.

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church of Shelby, 1114 South Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28152.
