Margaret Bridges

February 28, 1937 — February 15, 2012

SHELBY- Mrs. Margaret P. Bridges, 74, of 611 N. Post Rd., died Wed., Feb. 15, 2012, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland Co. she was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Aileen Hawkins Patterson. She retired with over 36 years of service, in the shipping and receiving with Esther Mill. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Bridges; son, Bobby Bridges; and brother, Johnny Patterson Jr.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her three sons, Gene Bridges Jr. and wife Carolyn, Eddie Bridges and wife Debbie, all of Shelby; David Bridges and wife Charlene of Belwood; daughter Frances Burnham and husband Dennis of Shelby; eleven grandchildren; Becky Eaker and husband Brent of Shelby, Phillip Burnham and wife Wendy of Mooresboro, Kevin Burnham and wife Linda, Kimberly B. Stelma, Kyle Bridges and wife Mandi, all of Shelby, Kristin B. Summer and husband Shane of Cherryville, Amanda Carpenter and husband Justin, John Bridges and wife Crystal, Terry Bridges and Fiancee Shannon Gentry, Crystal Andrews, Shannon Ware, all of Shelby; eighteen great grandchildren, Breanna Eaker, Ally Eaker, Annslee Burnham, Alayna Burnham, Marion “MeMe” Abee, Luke Burnham, Bailey Bridges, Mattie Grace Bridges, Brock Bridges, Rylee Summer, Allie Jade Summer, Gavin Stelma, Cheyenne Carpenter, Savannah Carpenter, Chloe Bridges, Jordan Rocque, Noah Rocque, Makayla Roberts; special friends, Lisa Bridges of Fallston; special nephew, Jimmy Bridges and wife Christina of Moncks Corner, SC; special nieces, Martha Ann Lavender and husband Johnny of Grover, Barbara Martin and Pam Smith of Shelby, Gail Fredell of Kings Mountain; and her beloved cats, Bubba and Sissy.

SERVICES: 2pm, Saturday, at Bethel Baptist Church.

VISITATION: Friday, 6-8pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at her home.

CLERGY: Drs. Tim Sims, J.M. Ezell, and Rev. Bill Fryer

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
