Margaret Franklin

SHELBY- Margaret Franklin, 81, passed away Tuesday August 23, 2016 at Hospice of Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Festus and Vernie Newton Barnette. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Franklin, Jr.; an infant son, Jimmy; one brother, Wilbur; here sisters, Edna, Helen, and Alma.

SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons, Rick Franklin, Dennis Franklin and wife Teresa all of Shelby; three daughters, Pam Franklin of Shelby, Kim Page and husband Robert of Grover, Judy Barker and husband Adam of Shelby; nine grandchildren, Mike Atkins and wife Stacie, Misty Emery, Chastity Goode, Kelsey Terry, Patricia Murphy and husband Scott, Holly Aguero, Richard Barker and wife Crystal, Joshua Barker, Clint Franklin; 21 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday in the chapel at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6-7:30 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby and other times at her daughter’s home, 109-1 Catalina Court, Shelby, NC 28152

INTERMENT: Sunset Cemetery
