SHELBY- Mrs. Margaret Hope Hardin Glenn, 82, of 951 Wendover Heights Drive, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Belton Hardin and Rita Patterson Crowe. She attended Beaver Dam Baptist Church and was a member of Martin Street United Methodist Church. She was also an original member and the longest participant of the Life Enrichment Center.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Baxter Glenn; two brothers, Billy Hardin and Rupert Hardin; and a sister, Syble Blanton.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Glenn Grayson Owens and husband, Guy, of Shelby; two sisters, Nell Downing and husband Bob and Peggy Nix, all of Florida; three grandchildren, David Grayson and fiancé, Tammy Melton of Grover, Nikki Graham, and Barbara McIntyer and husband, Steve, all of Shelby; five great grandchildren, David Grayson and fiancé, Molly Valentine, of Raleigh, Tyler Grayson, Kayla Mercedes Grayson and Ashley McIntyer, all of Shelby, and Jacob Miller of Grover; step-grandchildren, Shannon and Josh Campbell, both of Shelby, Laura Graham of Lawndale, Mark Grayson and fiancé, Tabby, of Casar, Chris and Donna Grayson of Boiling Springs, Danny and Kelli Pearson of Grover and Loretta and Danny Cash of Spartanburg; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend of more than 18 years, Ruthie Grigg.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby.

FUNERAL SERVICE: The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Shelby.

INTERMENT: Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Rev. Marvin Waters will officiate.
