Marie Ann Riley

PROSPERITY, SC- Mrs. Marie Ann Riley, 73, formerly of Shelby, NC, died Sat., July 7, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Boiling Springs, NC. A native of Chester Co. SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Verna Oswald Railey. She was a graduate of Chester High School in 1956, and attended Winthrop University. She was a former secretary at Westview Baptist Church, where she was a current member, a branch manager for First Citizens Bank, and later served as CFO of Riley Insurance Agency that she and her husband started. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Lake Murray. She was an avid researcher of her family genealogy, loved crossword puzzels, and working in her garden.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dennis Lyon Riley Sr.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Dennis Riley Jr. of Shelby; daughter Angela Riley Dorsey and husband Thomas M. of Boiling Springs; sister, Nancy Ellen Sanders of Summerville; two grandchildren, Megan Allison and husband Josh of Shelby and Trey Riley and wife Elizabeth of Clayton; one great-granddaughter, Riana Isabella Allison; former daughter-in-law, Ronda Riviere Wallace of Shelby; and special family friend, Robert Ivey of Prosperity, SC.
