Marilyn Dycus

September 12, 1952 — June 6, 2022

SHELBY: Friends and family in Christ, our mother died. Marilyn Gail McMullan Dycus was born into this world on September 12, 1952 to take care of as many animals and people as she could. She passed away peacefully, at her home, on Monday, June 6, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Sonny Dycus; her oldest and greatest son, Matt Giddens; her only daughter, the delightful Heather McMullan, and her son-in-love, Jason Perkins; her beautiful baby boy, David Dycus; her beloved step-children, Janice Kane, John Barber, Chris Dycus and Jennifer Jackson; grandchildren, Evelyn, Taylor and Skylar; sister, Debbie McCaskill; and her special friends, Fred and Jennifer Harrill. She was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Larry Fuller. She loved her friends, family and fur-babies. She loved the beach, the creek, margaritas, and music, in no particular order. She was thankful for every second she had here and made the most out of everyday. She loved you. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with Rev. Carrie Carpenter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or hospice

FUNERAL HOME: Arrangements are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation Center
