Marvin Strickland

SHELBY- Marvin Glen Strickland, 77, a resident of Cleveland Pines, passed away Tuesday January 19, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare Systems-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Howard Benjamin and Ida Mae Mayhew Strickland. He was a charter member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church.


PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James Strickland.

SURVIVED: He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Sweezy and husband Franklin, nancy S. Kendrick and husband Joe all of Shelby; sister-in-law, Martha Strickland; and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday at the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park
