SHELBY – Mr. Marvin Williams, 78, of 304 Grice St., died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. A native of Hall County, GA, he was a son of the late Dock and Mary Lou O’Dell Williams. He was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He was an Army and Air Force veteran, who served in Korea.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Lonnie Williams, and two grandchildren, Karen Hayes and Ryan Williams.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn J. Williams of the home; two sons, Jimmy Williams and Tim Williams and wife, Teresa, all of Shelby; two daughters, Pam Hayes and husband, Jeff and Audrey Hedgepeth and husband, Billy, all of Shelby; three sisters, Dot Brown of Ellenboro, Becky Licht of Charlotte and Linda Navey of Shelby; two brothers, Johnnie Williams and wife, Hallie of Gallup, New Mexico and Larry Williams and wife Barbara of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Chad Hayes, Jennifer Hayes, Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Sarah Hayes, Susan Hayes and Madison Hedgepeth; very special friends, Charles Sanders and Dan Worthey, both of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
INTERMENT: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
CLERGY: The Revs. Dick Whitener and Jeff Hayes
