Mary Ixchop

SHELBY- Mrs. Mary Gibson Ixchop, 64, of 1206 Patterson Street, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at home. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lois Waldrop Swink.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacy Gibson, two sisters and a brother.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her former husband and friend, Ira Gibson of the home; a son, Waylon Gibson of Cherryville; three daughters, Kathy Lail and husband, Max, of Vale, Patty Blanton of Cherryville and Holly Clark of the home: a sister, Evelyn Roper of Shelby; two brothers, Robert Swink and wife, Rita of Lawndale and Melvin Swink of South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2009 following the service at House of Prayer Church Cemetery and at other times at the home.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at House of Prayer Church Cemetery.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in House of Prayer Church Cemetery.
