SHELBY- Mary Rachel Jolley, lovingly known as Rachel, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at the age of 80 in her birthplace of Cleveland County, North Carolina. Born on March 24, 1945, Rachel graced this world with her warmth and kindness, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Rachel was a lifelong resident of Cleveland County and a devoted member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, where she found spiritual solace and community throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding light, and she took great joy in being part of the church's fellowship.

A woman of many interests, Rachel had a zest for life and an adventurous spirit. She loved traveling to Pigeon Forge and Nashville both places holding a special place in her heart. Whether she was camping in the great outdoors or delighting loved ones with her renowned cobbler pies and chocolate pies, Rachel poured her heart into everything she did. Her love for walking outside with her beloved fur babies, Molly and Salem, was a testament to her appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Rachel's family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Bill Jolley, who stood by her side through life's every turn. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Brenda Elmore and husband Jeff of Shelby. Her brother, John Camp, and his wife Earleen of Kings Mountain will fondly remember their times together.

Her grandchildren, Justin Roper and wife Rachel of Rutherfordton, and Emily Parker of Shelby, along with four great-grandsons and granddaughter-in-law Morgan Roper, were the lights of her life. Rachel's love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was immeasurable, and they will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd Huston Camp and Laura Spake Camp; several brothers and sisters; and her grandson, Tyler Roper. Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Flint Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Keith Dixon and Rev. Shane Kirby. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service, Rachel will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, where she will find eternal peace among loved ones.

Rachel Jolley was a loving and caring soul who embraced life with open arms and a generous heart. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her joyous spirit, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
