August 28, 1927 — July 12, 2010

LAWNDALE- Mrs. Mary Helen Allen Wellmon, 82, of 3703 Amazing Grace Rd., died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Clyde and Lula Drewery Allen. Mrs. Wellmon was a member of Ledford Grove Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 4 sisters, Lucille Wiggins, Margie Hopper, Eva Parker and Dot Causby; and a brother Rev. John Allen.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Howard Wellmon, of the home; two daughters Mary Louise Kelley of Earl and Betty Joyce Jordan and husband Baxton of Shelby; two sisters Maudine Terry and Julie Owle; two brothers Roy Allen and wife Donnis and Harold Allen and wife Sandy; five grandchildren Tony Jordan and wife Lisa, Todd Jordan, Ty Jordan and wife Michelle, Tonya Pruitt and husband Mike, and Alex Kelley; seven great grandchildren, Brandon, Bronson, Bradley, and Jeremy Jordan, Brayden Pruitt, Ashley Buff, and Krystal Martin; and one great grandchild, Cameron Jordan; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special friend Dianne Heffner.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 6-7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Betty Jordan, 5106 Springs Lane, Shelby 28152.

SERVICES: Services will be held 11am, Thursday, July 15 2010, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Entombment will immediately follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby 28150 or Ledford Grove Baptist Church, PO Box 336, Lawndale 28090.

CLERGY: Rev. Jackie Price will be officiating.
