SHELBY- Mrs. Mary Sue Allen Hollifield, 78, of 2602 S. Post Rd., died Friday, September 12, 2008 at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Lloyd and Lillie Morrison Allen. She was retired from Cleveland Memorial Hospital and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She was a giver, she loved to bake and give her friends fruit baskets and candy.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Hollifield her brother, Hugh Allen and a sister, Lois Hamrick.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a son, Dale Hollifield and his wife, Brenda T., of Shelby; a daughter, Aileen H. Blanton and husband, Don, of Wilmington; a sister, Gladys Edmondson of Boiling Springs; three grandchildren, Tammy Wright and husband, Phil of Morganton, Josh Blanton and wife, Laura, of Wilmington and Heather Hollifield of Shelby; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin Hollifield and Garrett Wright, both of Morganton.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
