Maude P. Poston

SHELBY: Elvenia “Maude” Poston, 97, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Veda Blanton Philbeck. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and she enjoyed the Harvest Seeds Ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. F. Poston; sister, Margaret Philbeck Speagle; and daughter, Brenda Poston Putnam. She is survived by her sons, Roger Poston and wife Gail and Johnny Poston; both of Shelby; brother, James Philbeck; grandchildren; Rodney Poston and wife Stephanie, Jeffrey Poston and wife Holly, Gerry Poston and wife Heather, Jeremy Poston and wife Angel and Janet Poston Hamrick and husband Joey; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Trexler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery.
