Mike Callahan

SHELBY: George Michael “Mike” Callahan, 66, died on Monday, August 21, 2023. He was the son of the late, Frank Sr. and Marie Callahan. Mike’s grandchildren were his world, he also enjoyed football, NASCAR, getting outside and working in his building. He was well known for being the quarterback at Shelby High School from 1973 to 1975. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Mull Callahan; stepdaughter, Lisa McIntyre Duncan; sister, Cindy Elumbaugh and husband Steve of Arkansas; brothers, Frank Callahan Jr. and Ronald Callahan and wife Kim of Kings Mountain; grandson, Levi Duncan and girlfriend Brittanie; granddaughter, Maggie Duncan; great-grand daughter, Alessandra Gonzalez; god-son, Michael Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 9,2023 at Lily Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Aubrey Folk officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Mike’s name to Lily Memorial Baptist Church and Samaritans Purse.
