SHELBY- Mrs. Mildred C. Cabaniss, 85, of 1205 Hardin Drive, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Batie Turner Cook. She retired after 38 years from J.P. Stevens Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Merrill Wright and her second husband, Lawrence Cabaniss, her son, Keith Wright and brothers, Claude and Roy Cook.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a grandson, David Wright of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Wright of Shelby; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Lovelace and husband, Isaac Sr. of Shelby and Betty Thomas and husband, Wayne of Boiling Springs; a brother, Clyde Cook of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Jackie Cook of Shelby; and special friends, Frances Scism of Gaffney and Buck Parker of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Sharon Wright, 1025 Hardin Dr., Shelby.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
