Mildred Gregory

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Mildred Adams Gregory, 92, died Monday, January 2, 2023. Born in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late C.J. and Louise Adams Schronce. Mildred was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, W.T. Gregory; brothers, Robert Adams and Bill Schronce; and sister, Betty Berry. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Huffman of Cherryville and Nancy Moss and husband John of Kings Mountain; sisters, Becky St. Laurent of Dallas, Vernell Causby and Kathy Schronce, both of Bessemer City; brother, Harold Schronce; grandchildren, Jane Moss and husband Gabe, Leslie Cook and husband Warren, Tammy McLeymore and husband Steve, Heather Mauney and husband Matt, and Ginger Spicer and husband Clint; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
