Mildred Weaver Wilson

December 1, 1926 — March 30, 2014

SHELBY-Mildred Louise “Maw” Weaver Wilson, 87, died Sunday, Mar. 30, 2014, at Gaston Manor in Gastonia. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Reggie and Marjorie Webb Weaver. Mildred enjoyed cooking for family and church, crocheting, sewing, quilting, and participating in church mission trips. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, and worked in textiles, retiring from J&C Dyeing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Gaston Hospice, and to the staff of Gaston Manor, where she was affectionately known at “Granny”.


PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Wilson; brothers, Loran, J.E., and Willie Weaver; sisters, Marie Weaver and Ruby Hamrick.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughter, Ann Wilson Carpenter and husband James; son, Reggie Wilson; granddaughters, Marsha C. Griffin and husband Donnie, all of Gastonia, and Jamie C. Bond and husband Tommy; great-grandchildren, Natalie Grace Bond and Zachary Thomas Bond, all of Belmont; sisters, Bernice Navy of Stanley, Mary Parker of Casar, Carol Sepaugh and husband Michael of Shelby, Ruth Theis and husband Dick of Shelby; brother, Marshall “Pete” Weaver of Shelby; sisters-in-law and roommate, Betty Wilson Clontz of Gastonia and Charlene Weaver of Polkville; and a host of nieces and nephews, and her Mt. Sinai Church family.

SERVICES: 3pm, Wednesday, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6-8pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

BURIAL: Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery
