Millage Spires

KINGS MOUNTAIN- Millage Carrington Spires, 73, passed away Saturday September 24, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House. A native of Palm Beach County, Florida, he was the son of the late Perl Carrington and Hettie Dykes Spires. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired US Postal worker after 35 years. After he retired he and Libby moved back to Florida for several years. During that time, he worked part time as a Funeral Associate at Hooper Funeral Home in Inverness, Florida for five years under the direction of Dwight Hooper.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his sweet wife of over 40 years Elizabeth “Libby” Hester Spires of the home; one son, Stuart Spires and wife Tracy of Iva, SC; one sister, Mary Rebecca Starks of Clewiston, Florida; two grandchildren, Cameron Spires and Katie Spires.

SERVICES: A Celebration of Life service will be held 3pm, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Christian Freedom Baptist Church and the family will receive friends after the service at the church.
