SHELBY- Mrs. Muriel Denton, 75, of 401 N. Morgan Street, died Sunday, June 06, 2010 at White Oak Manor. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Alsie Lankford Scism. Mrs. Denton enjoyed cooking and loved her family.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Cathy Denton Ingle; son Charles Denton; sister Joanne Lane; and granddaughter Vancheskia Queen.
SURVIVED: She is survived by four sons; Eddie Denton and wife Debbie of Lawndale, Barry Denton, Larry Denton and wife Pam, and Michael Hastings, all of Shelby; two daughters Teresa Queen and husband Gary of Golden Valley and Bobbie Newton and husband Jason of Cherryville; 16 grandchildren, Travis, Christy, Tammy, Wanda, John, Gary, Barry, Jessica, April, Chad, Danielle, Joseph, Tori, Taylor, Dylan, and Makayla; and 12 great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 8, from 12:30-2pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter Bobbie, 441 Phillips Drive, Cherryville.
SERVICES: Services will be held, Tuesday, June 8, 2pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby 28150.
CLERGY: The Rev. Keith Webb will be officiating.
