SHELBY- Mrs. Myrtle Faye Anderson, 93, of 717 South Washington Street, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at home. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Bob and Mary Jean Walker Hutchins. She was a member at Royster Avenue Church of God, where in 1993 she received honor for 30 years of faithful attendance. Mrs. Anderson was well known for being a great cook. She enjoyed cooking for both the well and the sick. She worked at Mellon’s Fish Camp and Dedmon’s Livestock Yard. She loved her cats and adopted many strays.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie “Rube” Hutchins, “Jeff” Leroy Hutchins, and Johnny Ray “Mutt” Hutchins; and two sisters, Carrie Lane and Mae Runyuns.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Carl Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Although she had no children of her own, she raised, nurtured, and loved many. Many thanks to Dr. Besson, Paula, and the staff at Shelby Medical Associates who made her visits enjoyable. A special thanks to the Hospice staff for their kind and attentive care through these past several months.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 5-7 pm and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
INTERMENT: Burial will immediately follow in Ross Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
