Nancy Ross

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Nancy Conner Ross, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Hospice at Wendover. Born in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ollie Hawkins Conner. Nancy was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She retired from the Kings Mountain Post Office after 30 years of service and spent her retirement years traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings and one great granddaughter. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard Ross, of the home; daughters, Rhonda Nivens and husband Rob of Kings Mountain and Regina Ruppe and husband Tim of Forest City; son, Rodney Ross and wife Amy of Cleveland, SC; sisters, Jonell Gass and Freda Barrett; brother, Ronnie Conner all of Kings Mountain sisters in law, Carolyn Condrey, Linda Farris and husband Paul; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Sanctuary. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County or to Oak Grove Baptist Church.
