Norris Snellings

SHELBY: Norris H. Snellings, 81, died Monday, June 12, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Sampson and Alma Rippy Snellings. Norris worked for more than 40 years at Celanese Corporation and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. He enjoyed hot rods and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Willene Snellings. He is survived by his son, Scott Snellings and wife Kelly of Lawndale; daughter, Joy Lail and husband Jeff of Cherryville; grandchildren, Andy and Adam Snellings, Ally Smith and Hunter Lail; great grandchildren, Cason, Brayton, Leila, Lane and Lynlee; and girlfriend, Gail Booth. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Max Turner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
