Odell Barrett

Kings Mountain, NC- Mr. Thomas Odell Barrett, 87, of 4848 Barrett Rd., died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Century Care in Cherryville. He was a native of Cleveland County and son to the late Ben and Lilly Harmon Barrett. He was retired from Baxter Mill and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Howell Barrett and his daughter, Joyce Barrett O'Brien.
He is survived by his son, Wendell Barrett of Grover; his brother, Rev. Wray Barrett of Kings Mtn.; four granddaughters, Kathy Flowers, Lisa Cash Millwood, Tamara Phillips, all of Kings Mtn., and Pattie Hames of Shelby; nine great-grandchildren, Glenn Flowers, Jessica and Justin Panther, Chucky, Chad, Chase, and Chris Hames, and Kody and Kory Phillips; a great-greatgrandaughter, Sarah Marie Flowers; and a special niece, Janice Greene.
The family will receive friends tonight (5/7) from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lisa Cash Millwood, 106 Range Rd., Kings Mtn.
The funeral will be held Tuesday (5/8) at 2:00pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jody Griffin officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
