Ovelia "Lib" Brown

SHELBY: Ovelia “Lib” McCraw Brown, 98, died Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. Born in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Tollison and Maggie Reynolds McCraw. She was a member of Florence Baptist Church in Forest City and was an excellent seamstress and cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Thompson and husband John of Shelby and Karon Splawn and husband Walter of Forest City; sons, James Brown and wife Mia of Irmo, SC, Wayne Brown and wife Pat of Inman, SC and Stan Brown of Boiling Springs, NC; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Cleveland Memorial Park.
