SHELBY-Paralee Sturgill, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Carolinas Continue Care Hospital. She was born in Washington County, Va., to the late Joe and Cora Willie Fleenor. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church for 51 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grand-daughter, Christina Evans.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ray Sturgill, of the home; daughter, Deborah Evans of Shelby; son, Ray Sturgill and wife Tina of Shelby; sisters, Linda Tester and husband Tommy, Wilma Metcalf and husband Pete, Joan Denton and husband David, and Lona Bishop and husband Manuel, all of Bristol, Va.; grandchildren, Daniel Sturgill and wife Emily, Elizabeth Ervin and husband Joe, Ashley Thomas and husband Andy; great-grandchildren, JJ Ervin, Gabby Ervin and Karlee Sturgill.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Clearview Baptist Church, Grover, officiated by the Rev. Barry Miles and Rev. Joe Ervin.
Internment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
