Pat Kitchens

SHELBY- Mr. Patrick “Pat” Gerald Kitchens, 67, of 202 W. Zion Church Rd., died Monday, November 17, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, with his beloved sister, Marianne, by his side. A native of New Orleans, LA, he was a son of the late Fredrick and Gere Bailey Kitchens. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Wachovia as a data processor. He was also a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Pat had a passion for model trains and had a love for gardening, flowers and dogwood trees.

He is survived by two sisters, Renee Harris and husband, James, of Atlanta, GA and Marianne Miller and husband, Dr. Don Miller, of Shelby; a brother, Chris Kitchens, and wife, Jenny, of Gainesville, GA; three nieces, Gabrielle Miller, Susan Benefield, and Sharon Sanders; three nephews, Fred Kitchens, and Johnathan and Jeff Miller and their families; and his beloved dog, Mandy.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Epworth Center of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

FUNERAL: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

MEMORIALS: It was Pat’s wish to request plants, especially his favorites, azaleas, hydrangeas, and gardenias that can be planted in his memorial garden or that memorial gifts be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1207 W. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC 28152.
