Pat Murphy

SHELBY- Mr. Pat Murphy, 77, formerly of Shelby, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Brit Haven Nursing Center, Chapel Hill. Born in Maine, he was the son of the late Holman Francis Murphy Sr. and Evelyn Murphy Buckley. Mr. Murphy was a member of Zoar Baptist Church where was active in many different capacities. He was also a computer programmer and processed payroll for Bost Bakery. He served in the U.S. Navy.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his loving wife of 53 years, Pauline Guffey Murphy, who died in March.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by a daughter, Patti Reinheimer and husband, Bob of Chapel Hill; a sister, Kathryn Medlin of Shelby; and a grandson, Matt Reinheimer of Greensboro.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 2 until 3 pm

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 3:30 pm at Sunset Cemetery.

CLERGY: Rev. Tim Ware will be officiating.
