Ms. Patricia “Pat” Lankford, 66, of Johnson City, TN, formerly of Shelby, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Asbury Place at Johnson City, in Tennessee. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Howard Patterson and Epsie Green Patterson. She was a member of Shelby Missionary Methodist Church and retired as a dormitory supervisor at UNC-Pembroke after 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard Dean Lankford, daughter Denise Michaels, and five sisters; Shirley Moore, Dessie Moss, Peggy Grigg, Hilda Patterson, and Brenda Canipe.
She is survived by her son, Lewis Lankford of Johnson City; TN, a sister, Janice Bronson, of Shelby, three grandchildren; Kristy Ledford, Keely Michaels, and Keith Michaels, and three great-grandchildren; Lea Whitaker, Riley Jo Ledford, and Dreama Smith.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 17 from 6 to 7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Janice Bronson, 719 Gardner Street, Shelby.
The Funeral will be Wednesday, June 18 at 11 A.M., at Clay-Barnette Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery,The Rev. Reed Jones will be officiating.
