Patty Lee

SHELBY- Mrs. Patty “Pat” Lunelle Patterson Lee, 79, of 602 Hanover Drive, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of White Plains, NC, she was the daughter of the late Louie C. and Nell Hines Patterson. She graduated from White Plains High School and the Women’s College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She came to Shelby in 1949 to begin work as a Lab Technician at Shelby Hospital. Later she began a teaching career that included teaching at Bethware, Grover, and Shelby High School and Shelby Junior High. She retired after 30 years as a teacher in Cleveland County and Shelby City Schools. She was a beloved wife and mother.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband of 58 years, J. Hardin Lee, Jr. of the home; two sons, John H. Lee of Salisbury and Louie Kevin Lee of Shelby; a sister, Raedelle Brooks and husband, Harry, of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughters, Deidre Hinkle and husband, Brian, of Apex, and Joanna Besswanger of Morganton; and great grandsons, Steven and Kenny Hinkle of Apex.

FUNERAL: A private family graveside service will be held.
