SHELBY- Mr. Paul Caldwell Eddins, 98, died Mon., April 11, 2011 at Sterling House Assisted Living. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Caleb Andrew and Jane Elizabeth Paxton Eddins. Paul served in the Army during WWII and later retired from the Esther Mill after 42 years. He was also a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Sparks Eddins; brother, Everette Eddins; and two sisters, Muriel Freeman and Lillie Mae White.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his daughter Paula E. Blanton and husband Rev. David L. of Kings Mountain; sister, Elsie McSwain, Formerly of Shelby, now of Arkansas; two grandchildren, David L. Blanton Jr. and wife Jody of Mt. Holly and J. Derek Blanton and wife Kathy of Indian Trail; three great grandchildren, Shannon Roof of Wilmington, Ashley Blanton Mason and husband Dexter of Charlotte, and Kaitlyn Blanton of Indian Trail; two great great grandchildren, Riley and Tristan Mason; and a number of nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Services will be held, 7pm, Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, 5-7pm, Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
CLERGY: Dr. B. Ervin Price and Rev. Josh Hunt.
BURIAL: Entombment will follow in 11am, Friday, in Cleveland Memorial Park.
