SHELBY- Mr. Paul “Junior” Carroll, 71, of 3412 Polkville Rd., Shelby, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Conyers, Georgia, he was a son of the late James Robert Carroll and Dilia Parker Carroll. He was retired from the Doran Mill and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Carroll loved the outdoors, fishing and playing horseshoes.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.T. Carroll, and Wylie Carroll, two sisters, Sara McMahan and Arizona Champion, and three grandsons, Kenny Parris, Chris Philbeck and Allen Philbeck.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley McCullough Carroll, of the home; three daughters, Vickie Smith and Donna Pack, both of Shelby, and Sandy Hunt and husband, Dennis, of Waco; a sister, Ernestine Mosely of Lincolnton; a brother, James Carroll of Chester, SC; four grandchildren, Gloria Philbeck , Jason Ruppe, Walter Smith , and Victoria Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Cierra Truett, Joshua Ruppe and Jayla Ruppe and a number of nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
