Pearl Canipe

March 5, 1922 — April 18, 2008

SHELBY- Mrs. Pearl Eleanor Canipe, 86, of 505 Charles Road, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter to the late Edd and Paola Rippy Blanton. She had retired from Hudson Hosiery Mill and was formerly a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, always putting her family needs before her own. She had a large collection of dolls, she loved flowers, and was always ready to travel somewhere.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Canipe; six brothers, James Wilson Blanton, George Baxtor Blanton, Fred Alvin Blanton, Clyde Edward Blanton, Ed “Doonie” Blanton, and Charles William Blanton; one sister, Peggy Jeanne Gardner, and two other infant siblings.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by one son, Michael Robert Canipe and his wife Susan of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren, Michael Wayne Canipe and his wife Beth of Boiling Springs, Jeffrey Scott Canipe and his wife Kelly of Kings Mountain, Shayne Lingg, currently serving in Afghanistan, and Jennifer Lingg of Charlotte; one brother, Bobby Gene Blanton and his wife Jeanell of Shelby, and one sister, Barbara Ann Dellinger of Kings Mountain; four great-grandchildren, Ben and Patrick Canipe and Kaitlyn and Abby Canipe; and many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Michael and Susan Canipe, 224 Putnam Lake Road, Kings Mountain.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be Monday, April 21, 2008 at 4:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Jeff Hayes
