Peggy Greene

GROVER- Mrs. Peggy Greene, 95, of 2630-2 Cleveland Ave., died Friday, February 20, 2009 at home. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Dom D. and Mary Elizabeth Hoyle Cox. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church and attended Patterson Springs Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Greene, and seven brothers and sisters.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Ledford, and husband, George, of Grover; five sons, Johnny Greene and wife, Rachel, of Spruce Pine, Phillip Greene and wife, Susan, and Billy Greene, and wife, Shelley, all of Grover, Scotty Greene, and wife, Brenda, of Salisbury, and Wayne Greene, of Shelby; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Randy Greene, Vickie Turman and Wes, Angie Blanton, Jeff Greene and Melinda, Toni Gaskill and Kelly, Chris Greene, Jennifer Borneman and Shannon, Misty Warlick and Kyle and Natalie Gray and Brian; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Sandra Avery, of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00p.m. at Patterson Springs Baptist Church and at other times at the home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Patterson Springs Baptist Church.

BURIAL: Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Spruce Pine, NC
