Preston T. Archer

GASTONIA- Mr. Preston Titus Archer, 83, a resident of Meadowwood Nursing Center, formally of Shelby, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Meadowwood Nursing Center. A native of Rockingham County, NC, he was born May 16, 1929, son of the late Walter and Daisy Smith Archer. He was a member of Yorkwood Church of God and loved his church very much.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margie McEntyre Archer and one brother, David Archer.

SURVIVED: He is survived by one son, Michael W. Archer and wife Kathy of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Carolyn Bradley of Kings Mountain and Elaine Price and husband Donald of Bessemer City; one sister, Raymell Manus of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Thursday at 12:00 pm at Yorkwood Church of God in Gastonia.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of his daughter Elaine Price, 1204 North 12th Street in Bessemer City.

BURIAL: Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby.
