Raymond Pearson

SHELBY: Raymond Gerald Pearson, 82, died Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Wendover Hospice. He was the son of the late Jarvis and Verdie Blanton Pearson. Raymond had a love for antique John Deere tractors and enjoyed restoring them. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Hamrick Pearson; sisters, Doris Bright, Betty Cochran, and Thelma Barnette; and brothers, Irvin Pearson and Obie Pearson. He is survived by his sons, Greg Pearson of Bostic and Bryan Pearson and wife Pam of Shelby; daughter, Stephanie Pearson and Marty of Shelby; brothers, Danny Pearson and wife Jackie of Shelby and Bill Pearson and wife Elaine of Shelby; grandchildren, Tiffany Ledford, Caleb Pearson, Patrick Pearson, Marc Marshall, Austin Marshall, Andrew VanAtta, Cassie Murray, and Megan Ledford; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Friday, February 16,2024 in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Ken Burnett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
