Ray "Rick" Gibson Jr.

SHELBY- Mr. Ray E. Gibson Jr. ”Rick”, 65, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ray E. Sr. and Elizabeth Mayhew Gibson. Mr. Gibson was a proud Vietnam Veteran and worked for Eaton Corporation for 23 years and was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. He loved his family and treasured his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping.


SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Catherine Davis Gibson of the home; son Eric Gibson of Shelby; daughter Brandy Gibson Beason and husband Chris of Boiling Springs; sister Diane Patterson of Lexington, KY; brother Dale Gibson of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Corey and Conner Gibson and Hannah, Ericah, and Luke Beason; and many special friends and family.

SERVICES: Thursday, September 30, 2010, 11am, Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.

BURIAL: Sulphur Springs UMC with military honors.
