SHELBY – Mrs. Reba Self Cross, 82, of 1306 Greer St, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late R.R. and Hazel Carter Self. She assisted in the facilitation of Dunklin Memorial Camp in Okeechobee, Florida, a drug and alcohol rehab center, where she worked for 20 years. She attended Mulls Memorial Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin B. Cross; a brother, Toby Self; and a sister, Willie Lo “Bill” Hamrick.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a son, Randy J. Bolton and wife, Suzanne, of Shelby; a daughter, Diana Bolton Walker and husband, Arlen “Art” of Charlotte; two brothers, Dale Self and wife, Madeline of Hardeeville, SC and Ernest “Jim” Self and wife, Vera of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Lisa Greene of Shelby, Chad Greene of Asheville, Tina Pelano and husband, John of Minn., and Paul J. Bolton and wife, Tonya, of Gastonia; three great grandchildren, Maggie Stutts of Charlotte, Alex Stutts of Shelby, and Heather Pelano of Minn.; a great-great grandchild, Gloria Thomas of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
