Dean Lavender

November 16, 1939 — February 7, 2012

SHELBY- Rev. Paul Dean Lavender, 72, of 876 E. Zion Church Rd., went to be with his Lord, Feb. 7, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Rutherford Co. he was the son of the late Paul H. and Reba Philbeck Lavender. He served as pastor at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church, Clyde Wesleyan Church, Boger City Wesleyan Church, Statesville Northview Wesleyan Church, Glen Alpine Gibb Chapel, and retired in November as pastor of Shelby First Wesleyan Church, where he was a member.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Angela and Michelle Lavender

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda Davis Lavender, of the home; daughter, Kim L. Ford and husband Kevin of Shelby; two sisters, Katherine Lavender of TX, Vivian Haney and husband John of Gastonia; three brothers, Gary Lavender of Ellenboro, Steve Lavender and wife Doree of Shelby, Johnny Lavender and wife Beverly of Ellenboro; two grandchildren, Haley Owens and husband Derek, Joshua Ford and Fiancee Krista Bailey, all of Shelby; one great grandson, Cohen Ford; sister in law, Lydia Bingham and husband Don of Shelby

SERVICES: 3pm, Friday, at Shelby First Wesleyan Church

VISITATION: 1:30pm -3pm, Friday, at the Church

CLERGY: Revs. Eddie Gray, Jerry Lumston, James Baker, and Eddie Clayton

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery
