Richard Bowman

SHELBY- Richard “Coal Miner” Bowman, 80, died Friday, Mar. 4, 2016, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Kimball, W. Va., he was the son of the late Glenn and Ora Frost Bowman. He served in the Marines, was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church, a former member of Kimball Vol. Fire Department, and mason and shriner. He retired from Carolina Freight.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Mabry Bowman

SURVIVED: He is survived by his son, Dickie Bowman and wife Holly of Shelby; daughter, Amy Randall and husband Steve of Waco; brother, Ronald Bowman of Princeton, W. Va.; grandchildren, Austin Edwards, Colton and Kale Bowman

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 4-5:30pm, Sunday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: A family graveside service will be held in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Hillsville, Va.
