Rickey Eggers

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Rickey “Rick” Eggers, 61, died Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover. Born in Germany, he is the son of Elvira Eggers of Rogersville, TN and the late Robert Eggers. Rick loved high school sports, playing chess and watching NASCAR. He drove an 18 Wheeler, worked as a Driver Trainer and Saftey Educator, and pulled and set many mobile homes over the years. He was a man of faith, who loved Jesus, family and the people around him. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Kelly Smith Eggers of the home; son, Joshua Atkinson and girlfriend, Jennifer of Shelby; daughters, Sarah Crawford and husband Jonathan of Kings Mountain and Rachel Atkinson of Lawndale; sisters, Charlotte and Christine; brother, Jim; and grandchildren, Israel, Hannah, Kaedyn, Lana, Olivia, Landon, RaeLee, Mackenzie, Nickolas and Trevor. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Kings Mountain with Pastor Larry Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
