SHELBY-Ricky Irvin Simpson, 56, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, at Carolinas HealthCare System-Cleveland. A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of Max Simpson of Icard and the late Mary Bolick Simpson.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Joe Simpson and a great grandchild, Alyssa.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Dennis Queen Simpson of the home; one son, Jamie Simpson; two step sons and two step daughters; two sisters, Debra Shook and husband Jerry of Conley Springs, Shelia Messenger and husband Roger of Granite Falls; several grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the service.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, at Mulls Chapel Baptist Church, on Hwy. 18, officiated by the Rev. Shane Ramsey.
